Live Assorted Forest Moss makes an ideal top dressing for carnivorous plant pots and brings a lush, natural look to terrariums.
It's great with reptiles and isopods and grows well on bark and rock. Harvested from a remote, pesticide-free private property. Please note: because it's harvested outdoors, it may contain small bugs and other natural material.
Preparing your moss: rinse it under clean, lukewarm water to remove dirt and loose debris, then soak it in a bowl of clean water for a few minutes to dislodge any hitchhikers. Larger ones can be picked out with tweezers or chopsticks. We usually stop there, because the native critters that come along add to a living setup. If you'd rather have none, spray the moss with insecticidal soap (a few drops of plain dish soap in water) or with cold-pressed neem oil mixed with water and a little dish soap.
Keeping it alive: forest moss wants constant high humidity and steady moisture, so mist it regularly with filtered or rain water and give it bright, indirect light, such as a shaded window or a fluorescent lamp. Open the container now and then for air flow, which prevents mould.

How is it packed and when does it ship?
Orders leave the nursery every Monday. Plants are packed in damp paper towel and bagged to retain humidity. Order by Friday night to guarantee a spot on Monday's dispatch.
What if it arrives damaged or dead?
Send clear, well-lit photos within 24 hours of delivery and we'll review the issue. We'll provide a replacement or store credit where covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee. Some leaf yellowing, browning or die-back after shipping is normal.
Can I add something to an order I've already placed?
Yes, as long as it hasn't shipped. Reply to your order confirmation email with what you'd like to add, and we'll update the order and email you a secure link to pay the difference.
