Sarracenia rubra subspecies rubra, or the Sweet Pitcher Plant, is a compact species native to the southeastern United States. It produces slender green pitchers with red veins and distinctively long lids. The pitchers emit a sweet fragrance, more noticeable than most other Sarracenia species, which attracts both prey and pollinators. These plants are hardy, steady growers that develop strong clumps over time. Our clone of S. rubra produces bright red almost neon-like flowers.
