Close-up of Utricularia bisquamata showing tiny white-edged flowers with bright yellow centers, a delicate and rare carnivorous plant

Utricularia bisquamata is a tiny terrestrial bladderwort from southern Africa, prized for its small flowers with white edges and a bright yellow center. This species is an easy grower that spreads readily, producing dozens of flowering scapes, each bearing multiple small blooms, creating an impressive, prolific display when in full flower. While it’s relatively easy to find in the US, it is uncommon in Canadian cultivation, making it a rare addition for collectors who want a bladderwort that produces massive numbers of flowers.
