Bladderworts (Utricularia)
Amongst the most highly developed plants in the world, bladderworts are famed for their miniature flowers. Often orchid-like in appearance, these flowers come in a wide range of colors including various shades of white, pink, violet, yellow and red. Beneath their flowers lay hundreds of small traps or bladders that are capable of catching small pray through a unique vaccuum-like mechanism. Many species make fine windowsill and terrarium specimens often profusely blooming for months at a time.
